VILYAMIR KOLESNICHENKO

I make charcoal and watercolor drawings of people in contemplation. Every person has a story, longings and regrets that pull at them and I aim to portray those emotions and feelings in my work. Studying my subjects, I interpret the lines in faces, the twinkle in the eyes, and the postures into a story captured by charcoal. My desire is for viewers to walk away having captured a piece of the human condition — to have something inside resonate with what is in the charcoal — resignation; hope; triumph; longing.
